• Hotel Rooms 

    The Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino is the venue for the conference and where our largest block of rooms is located.  We have also been able to arrange for a small room block, with a limited number of rooms, at the Margaritaville, next door to the Golden Nugget. If you are interested in this option, please note, there is a limited number of rooms in our block, and the nightly rate per room is a little higher than at the Golden Nugget.  Information for each hotel and the protocols for making room reservations are detailed below.

     

    Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino Room Block Information

    The Golden Nugget has a block of rooms being held for the MASSP / MASEA / MSASPA conference. The hotel room block will remain established until the block is depleted or until the cutoff date of May 28, 2024, whichever is first. The group rate is not guaranteed to be available after the cutoff date or depletion of rooms.  For those whose room is being paid for by a tax-exempt district/organization, a current letter of tax-exemption must be provided to the hotel.  It can be sent in with the payment if mailed in advance of the conference or brought in with the payment at the time of check-in.

    To make a reservation by phone, please call 1-800-777-7568 and provide group code S240313 for the MASSP / MAESA / MSASPA room block rates.  For rooms reserved by phone, there will be no initial charge on the credit card used to reserve and hold the room/rooms.

    The Golden Nugget room prices are as follows:
    Luxury King: $109.99/night plus applicable fees and taxes
    Luxury Two Queen: $129.99/night plus applicable fees and taxes

    All room rates and a $14.99 per night resort fee are subject to Harrison County room tax, currently at 5%, and state sales tax
    of 7%.  The rooms are quoted for single and double occupancy unless otherwise specified.  Additional adults (21 and over) in a room are $10 per night additional adult fee.

    ALL hotel rooms are non-smoking.  A $200 charge will be assessed for smoking in a hotel room.  

    Guestrooms must be occupied by and registered to at least one adult 21 years of age or older. A photo ID will be required at check-in.  Because the Golden Nugget is a casino resort, please note that anyone under age 21 cannot come and go on their own to the on-site restaurants, H2O pool, Starbucks, or walk through the casino to get somewhere without being accompanied by an adult.

    Please note: Upon check-in, a credit card or debit card will be required for an incidental deposit of $100 per stay.  If no incidental charges are made to the room during the hotel stay, then the card will be credited with the $100 deposit upon checkout.

    Guests have until check in to amend their departure date without penalty. After this time, should a guest depart earlier than indicated, there will be a $50 early departure fee that would be considered an incidental charge and debited on the credit/debit card mentioned in the preceding paragraph.

    Check-in time is after 4:00 p.m. and checkout time is 11:00 a.m.

     

    Margaritaville Room Bock Information

    Margaritaville rooms are all Queen Balcony rooms at a rate of $209.00/night plus applicable fees and taxes.   There is a $19.99/night resort fee per room and 12% tax (unless tax-exempt).

    Please note: the date for the release of the room block at Margaritaville is May 10, 2024.  After that date, the rate per room will increase by at least $60/night plus applicable taxes and fees.  

    Reservations at the Margaritaville can be made by calling Wendy at 228-271-6338 or Kay at 228-271-6355.  A credit card guarantee will be required for each individual reservation.  Please note, if a room is being paid for by a tax-exempt district, then there must be an up-to-date letter of tax exemption provided to the Margaritaville before check-in. In order to be tax-exempt, the credit card has to be in the school district or business name.  A personal credit card cannot be tax-exempt.  If you have any questions about this, please clarify them with Wendy or Kay at the time your reservation is made. 

    A $100 incidental deposit per night is required upon check-in. If the funds are not used, the deposit will be released upon check out.  This can be a personal credit card and usually is since it is for incidentals used by the occupant. However, if it is covered by the school district and tax exempt, it must be on a tax exempt credit card.

    Individual room cancellations must be received no less than 72 hours prior to arrival in order to avoid forfeiture of one night’s room and tax.
    ... The hotel agrees to send at no charge confirmation of reservations and/or reservation changes to the registered guests within seven (7) days of receipt of such information.
    … Room block and reservation procedures will be loaded into the hotel’s central reservation and/or property management system.
    … Name changes to reservations may be made 24 hours prior to arrival at no charge, if there is no change to arrival and departure dates.
    … CHECK-IN TIME is 4:00 PM and CHECK-OUT TIME is 11:00AM.
